The City of London Corporation, in association with the COP27 Egyptian Presidency brought together sustainability leaders from around the world to urgently address overcoming pressing climate challenges at the second annual Net Zero Delivery Summit. Taking place between COP27 in Egypt and COP28 in the UAE, the second annual Net Zero Delivery Summit marked a crucial milestone in the journey towards a sustainable future.
High level speakers, including the Governor of the Bank of England Andrew Bailey, Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley, and representatives from the COP27 and COP28 Presidencies united behind the need for fast and decisive action if the world is to reach net zero.
Government representatives, global financial and corporate leaders, and sustainability experts from around the world shared best practice for implementing climate finance goals, routes for effective policy and regulatory engagement, and discussed the importance of enhanced transparency in investment and emission data.
The summit also provided reflection on commitments made at COP27 and a look forward to COP28 in Dubai this December – particularly regarding the importance of the global finance system ensuring capital reaches the emerging and developing economies that are most impacted by climate change.
